SophiePrint, square prints from your phone

SophiePrint is a Windows Phone app for ordering square prints of your photos, from the camera roll or Instagram, printed by a print shop and sent to your door.

We’re working on SophiePrint, an app for printing the photos on your phone. You pick your photos from the camera roll or from Instagram, and they come to your door as square matte prints, in Malaysia and Singapore for now. A print shop does the printing, and we do the app.

It’s on Windows Phone, because that’s what we’re already working on … SophieLens and the rest.

The first round

The first round of designs was in May, on the Lumia 920. We planned a whole range of things to print: photo prints, photo strips, photo books, photo frames, and squares in three sizes. You pick a format, pick your photos, watch the count go up in your working set, then check out.

Squares

By the end of July it was down to two, Squares and Mini Squares, on a wood background with “Printing simplified” under the name. The photos in it are now our own test prints. Picking photos is two buttons, camera roll or Instagram. We’ve started building it too.
