About
I'm Rayson, a software engineer and designer in Malaysia. I've been building software since 2002, and over the years I've grown into a generalist. I've always worked across design and engineering, and I like being involved in both how something looks and how it works.
I co-founded Nerd Attack, one of Malaysia's earlier mobile development studios. We worked with local and international brands, building apps for phones, the web, smart TVs and wearables. Later, at Intrack, I helped build Hargapedia, a Malaysian price comparison app, and MailerTrack, which brands and retailers use to track promotions. I've also enjoyed working with and mentoring younger engineers.
These days I'm CTO at FinLit Media, where I build MoneyMama, an AI money assistant for Malaysians. AI coding agents have changed the way I work. I take on more of the development myself now, across the app, the backend and the internal tools our team uses. I still enjoy the hands-on work, especially taking an idea, figuring out the difficult parts and turning it into something people can use.
I've always liked writing things down. This site is where I gather my thoughts and write about what I've built, the decisions along the way and the things that didn't work. I often go back to what I've written to see how my thinking has changed.
