CineMy 2.0 is out on the iPhone. CineMy is our own app for movie showtimes, every cinema in one place instead of going through GSC, TGV and MBO one by one. It's us scratching our own itch.

The first CineMy came out in 2012. This one is a whole redesign, mostly because I wanted it. iOS 7 came with a new design language, the whole UI is flat now, and CineMy was my excuse to design in it. It was also a way for us to look into scraping work, and the showtimes and the Rotten Tomatoes scores in it are all scraped.

## Movies

It opens on what's showing, each film with its poster and a play button for the trailer, and a little clock on the ones starting soon. A movie has its Rotten Tomatoes score next to CineMy's own thumbs up and thumbs down, so you can rate what you've watched. It also has the showtimes near you, day by day.

    { src: main, alt: 'The Movies screen: Grace of Monaco, Need for Speed, Pompeii and Anchorman 2 as wide poster rows, each with a play button, and a clock badge on Anchorman 2' },
    { src: movieRate, alt: 'The Divergent page: the poster over a still, a 38% Rotten Tomatoes score, thumbs up and down with counts, Details and Showtimes tabs, the synopsis and trailers' },
    { src: movieInfo, alt: 'The Divergent details: rating, language, genre, run time, director and cast, with View on IMDb and View on Wikipedia' },
    { src: movieShowtimes, alt: 'Divergent showtimes near Petaling Jaya: today and the next three days, with times at TGV Sunway Pyramid and GSC Midvalley' },
  ]}

## Cinemas

Cinemas are sorted by how near they are, with each chain's logo ... TGV, GSC, MBO, Cathay, Lotus Five Star and the rest. A cinema has a map, directions, a button to call it, and its showtimes for the next few days. If there's one you keep going to, heart it and it goes into your favourites.

<Screens
  screens={[
    { src: cinemaList, alt: 'The cinema list sorted by nearest: TGV Sunway Pyramid, GSC Summit, MBO Subang Parade, Cathay Cineplex, Lotus Five Star, Star Cineplex and Mega Cineplex with distances and logos' },
    { src: cinemaDetails, alt: 'GSC Mid Valley: the address, a map, and Directions, Call Cinema, Add to Favourites and Showtimes' },
    { src: cinemaShowtimes, alt: 'GSC Mid Valley showtimes by day, with Anchorman 2 and Pompeii and their times' },
    { src: favourites, alt: 'Favourites: MBO Subang Parade and Cathay Cineplex, with a red Delete button swiped out on one' },
  ]}

## Go Now!

Go Now! is for when you've got an hour or so to kill. It shows the movies starting within the hour near you, sorted by distance or by time, and sends you to the cinema with a Google Maps link. There's also the box office chart, for the US or Malaysia, and everything sits in a side menu.

<Screens
  screens={[
    { src: goNow, alt: 'Go Now! near Petaling Jaya: Anchorman 2 starting at 4:00pm at TGV Sunway Pyramid and at 4:30pm at GSC Midvalley' },
    { src: goNowSort, alt: 'Go Now! with a sort sheet open: Distance, Time and Cancel' },
    { src: boxOffice, alt: 'The US Box Office list, numbered one to seven, with a Malaysia tab beside it' },
    { src: sideMenu, alt: 'The side menu over red: the user name, then Movies, Cinemas, Box Office, Favourites, Go Now!, Settings and About' },
  ]}
  caption="Go Now!, sorting it, the box office, and the side menu."
/>

You join with Facebook, which is what lets you rate movies. I also designed a way to make a Facebook event for a showing and invite your friends to it.

<Screens
  screens={[
    { src: join, alt: 'Join with: a blue Continue with Facebook button, or a username, email and password and a green Sign Up button' },
    { src: fbEvent, alt: 'A Facebook Event for Need for Speed at TGV Sunway Pyramid: date and time, people invited, and privacy set to invite only' },
    { src: fbInvite, alt: 'Invite Friends: a searchable alphabetical list of friends with a circle to tick beside each' },
  ]}
  caption="Joining, and a Facebook event for a showing."
/>

## In the App Store

There's a site for it at [cine.my](http://www.cine.my), and it's free on the [App Store](https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cinemy/id592072439).

<Screens
  screens={[
    { src: store1, alt: 'App Store screenshot: Now Showing, a handy list of what is currently playing' },
    { src: store2, alt: 'App Store screenshot: Ratings, rate movies you have watched' },
    { src: store3, alt: 'App Store screenshot: Go Now!, great for last minute decisions' },
    { src: store4, alt: 'App Store screenshot: Favourites, easy access to your favourite cinemas' },
    { src: store5, alt: 'App Store screenshot: Showtimes, get accurate screening times' },
